LEGAL DEFENSE FUNDRAISER FOR THE BOTSFORDS

Local community to rally around Wausau family sued by multinational oil corporation

WHAT:

A fundraiser for the legal fees of James and Krista Botsford — who live in Wausau, Wisconsin — in the lawsuit Enbridge Pipeline Corp. filed against them. Also a discussion about what Enbridge is doing and planning in Wisconsin.

WHY:

Oral Arguments are scheduled for Sept. 21, 2016 in the North Dakota Supreme Court. It takes a lot of horsepower to fight against the largest pipeline company in the world.

WHERE AND WHEN:

Basil Restaurant is hosting this fundraising event on Sunday, September 4th from 1:30 to 3pm. Basil is at 2106 Schofield Ave. in Weston. Everyone is invited.

SPEAKERS:

James Botsford will talk about their case in which Enbridge sued them using the power of Eminent Domain to take their land.

Mandy Wright, candidate for Wisconsin Assembly District 85, will talk about Enbridge’s actions and plans in Wisconsin.

Elizabeth Ward, Conservation Program Coordinator for the Sierra Club-John Muir Chapter. She is very knowledgeable on the environmental and political issues of oil pipelines in Wisconsin.

Discussions will follow.
